Our Volunteers Keep Us Going
Are you an adult looking to get involved with OUT Maine? We always have opportunities for volunteers to lend us a hand!
Past volunteers have tabled with us at Pride events in June, sat in as an extra adult on weekly virtual youth programs, came into the office in Rockland to create buttons and manage other supplies, distributed flyers, and more. Whatever your areas of interest may be, there is sure to be a volunteer opportunity perfect for you.
To become a volunteer with OUT Maine, please fill out the application form linked below. You’ll be able to specify your preferences for volunteer work, as well as share details about your availability. After this form is submitted, you may be contacted to complete some training, depending on the area(s) of work you are interested in. Youth Volunteers
Youth ages 13-17 may now volunteer with OUT Maine! Youth are welcome to attend volunteer days at our Rockland, Maine office. This can include making pins, stuffing envelopes, assembling information packets, preparing crafts for events, and more. An OUT Maine staff member will always be present in the office on volunteer days. Youth can also table at events OUT Maine is invited to, such as Pride events, school events, and community fairs. An OUT Maine staff or board member will always table with youth. Youth volunteers are also invited to distribute OUT Maine flyers at their local businesses. Lastly, youth can bake snacks for our programs and drop them at our Rockland office!
Youth volunteers are encouraged to go with a second adult, and OUT Maine must receive approval from their guardian. This is a great and easy way for youth to gain volunteer hours. Please email program@outmaine.org if you have any questions.
