OUT Maine’s T.H.A.T. Project (Trans Health Action Team) consists of 5 young people ranging from age 15 to mid-20’s. The team met multiple times over a six month period for in depth focus groups, interviews, and resource building. They focused on reflecting on their own stories to explore themes of trans experience in the healthcare setting to more thoroughly target the needs of other trans youth. Upon completion, the team recorded a podcast sharing relevant stories relating to their experience with physical and/or mental healthcare, and have identified specific provider and patient resources that need to be developed and disseminated to positively affect our health care systems.
