About Deer Isle-Stonington Pride:
Deer Isle-Stonington Pride was established in 2021 as a response to incidents of non-inclusivity from a local school board member. “We decided to embrace love rather than reinforce the messages of hate that we were hearing,” says co-founder Holly Eaton, “and to provide an annual celebration for the members of the LGBTQ community and allies that is welcoming and family-friendly.”
